Montecito wedding venues give you a setting, not a setup

Montecito gives you gardens, old trees, the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Then you get the venue packet, and much of the list says bring your own.

That is normal here. Many Montecito venues are estates and gardens. They rent you the grounds. The tables, chairs, tabletop, bar, dance floor and lighting are up to you and your planner.

If that list is not built around the venue, it shows. Chairs sink into a lawn. The bar lands in the wrong spot. Guests get cold once the sun drops. So build the list around the venue you picked, zone by zone.

Why Montecito venues need a rental plan

Montecito is an unincorporated community just east of Santa Barbara, set between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific. Many of its wedding venues are gardens, estates and clubs. That shapes what you rent.

First, estates are spread out. A wedding moves from a ceremony spot to cocktail hour to dinner, often in different parts of the grounds. Each zone needs its own furniture. Our post on planning rentals zone by zone at a Montecito estate walks through it.

Second, getting there takes planning. Rental delivery in Montecito means winding roads, gated estates and coastal lanes. We plan load in around the venue’s access rules.

Third, each venue sets its own rules on size, hours and layout. The Music Academy of the West, for example, has several halls and gardens to choose from. Ask which space fits your guest count before you plan rentals.

Music Academy of the West

Why Montecito couples and planners call us

We set a garden wedding at Montecito Riviera Orchard among lemon trees, with a poolside cocktail hour under pagoda umbrellas.

For a rehearsal dinner at Les Fontaines Estate, we supplied vineyard tables, a Versailles bar and lounge seating apart from dinner.

We have set a garden wedding at the Montecito Club, from the cocktail tables on the lawn to the reception.

We supplied an al fresco gala dinner at the Music Academy of the West, with gold Chiavari chairs and brushed gold flatware.

What we rent for Montecito weddings

Every Montecito list starts in the same place. Our wedding rentals page shows the full range, and these are the groups estate weddings use most:

Plan around the gates, paths and lawns

Ask your venue for its inclusions list and its rules. Then bring both to us. We fill only what is missing, and we plan around the gates, paths and lawns you are working with.

Planning a tent on a lawn or patio? Read our post on tenting on Montecito estate lawns and patios. Then fill out our tenting questionnaire. For a reception bar, see bar rentals for Montecito estate weddings.

Planning across the area? Our Montecito event rentals and Santa Barbara service area pages cover more local venues.

How rentals for a Montecito venue come together

1

Share the venue and its rules

Send the venue name, date, guest count and the venue’s own rules on load in, hours and lawn use.

2

Plan the zones

We map ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing, then fill each zone. A CAD drawing or site visit costs extra.

3

See it in the showroom

Book a showroom appointment to pick chairs, linens, tabletop and lighting in person with one of our event consultants.

4

Delivery, setup and pickup

We plan the route and timing around the estate’s access, set up what is in the quote and return for breakdown.

Montecito wedding venue questions

Do you deliver rentals to Montecito estates?

Yes. Our delivery area covers Santa Barbara County, and Montecito is part of it. Estate deliveries here mean winding roads, gates and coastal lanes, so we plan the route and load in time with your venue. Share the venue's access rules when you ask for a quote.

What do I need to rent for a Montecito estate wedding?

Often the full setup. If your estate rents only the grounds, you bring ceremony chairs, dinner tables, linens, tabletop, a bar, a dance floor and lighting. Add lounge furniture for cocktail hour and heaters for the evening. Always check the venue's inclusions list first.

Can I hold a wedding at the Music Academy of the West?

Yes. The Academy rents its Montecito campus for weddings, with halls and outdoor gardens to choose from. Its own site describes weddings from intimate ceremonies to receptions. Ask the Academy which spaces fit your guest count, then we can plan rentals for each space.

Should I rent a tent for a Montecito wedding?

It depends on the venue and the season. A tent gives shade by day and cover once the evening cools. Ask your venue where a tent can go on its lawn or patio. Then fill out our tenting questionnaire so we can quote it.

What are the wedding venues in Montecito?

The Montecito venues in our table are a music campus, two estates and a club. They include the Music Academy of the West, Montecito Riviera Orchard, Les Fontaines Estate and the Montecito Club. Most of them give you the setting, not the setup. At an estate you usually rent the chairs, tables, bar, dance floor and lighting.
